ABOUT DAVID BRICE
David Pinder Brice BA, DipEd, FCILT, spent his main career (34 years) with British Rail, initially, after managerial training, in ground level operations management, followed by freight/ passenger planning at Headquarters level; responsibilities included replanning, re-equipment and implementation of an updated UK freight train/terminal network. Final duties included implementation of start-up Channel Tunnel freight services. He took voluntary retirement in 1993.
Subsequently working as a consultant UK/Worldwide he has undertaken major studies / critical audit of a large range of projects, covering mass transit schemes, Heavy Rail operations and freight/ passenger terminal projects. Much of his recent work has been in Eastern Europe/CIS countries.
"My principal area of expertise is in rail operations, covering all aspects of rail service planning/time-tabling/rolling stock diagramming/utilisation and current operations, also track/terminal layout/equipment advice for passenger and freight terminals/outline signalling plans. Advice is given on management structure and rail business marketing/selling. Particular expertise is offered in feasibility studies/investment appraisal/matching project expenditure to business justification.
